Ní Mhurchú pays tribute to 100 year old former legal eagle, Eileen O’Leary.

Ireland South MEP, Cynthia Ní Mhurchú, has warmly celebrated Eileen O’Leary, a Carlow native who recently reached the remarkable milestone of her 100th birthday.

In recognition of this extraordinary achievement, Ní Mhurchú was present to help present O’Leary with the Centenarian Bounty, a prestigious national award bestowed by the President of Ireland to honour citizens who have reached 100 years of age.

Speaking at the occasion, Ní Mhurchú hailed Eileen O’Leary as a true trailblazer in the legal profession.

O’Leary enjoyed a distinguished career working alongside the late solicitor Ronald Clery at Malcomson Law in Carlow, where she earned a reputation for her dedication, expertise, and commitment to their clients.

“Eileen’s life and career are an inspiration,” Ní Mhurchú said.

“Her contributions to the legal profession and her community in Carlow have left a lasting legacy. Celebrating her 100th birthday is not just a personal milestone, but a recognition of a life dedicated to service, integrity, and excellence.”

Eileen O’Leary’s longevity and accomplishments serve as a reminder of the remarkable impact that one individual can have on both their profession and community. The Centenarian Bounty she received is a symbol of national appreciation and admiration for her lifetime of achievements.

Eileen O’Leary lives on Montgomery Street in Carlow and was married to the late Sean O’Leary, a former Primary School Principal.
